At Mailchimp, our internship program focuses on giving our interns opportunities to get hands-on experience and contribute to real-world business projects alongside our full-time peeps. Over the years, we've had the privilege to bring on some of the brightest, most talented students from around the world to help grow our brand. Mailchimp designed our 12 week paid internship program to help students grow their skillset, create lasting connections, and do meaningful work. Along with helping our interns grow professionally, we're also committed to their personal growth and provide various soft skill classes while also hosting fun events along the way!

Our program is open to students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, bootcamp, and online courses - all candidates must be enrolled through the duration of the program.

Our Customer and Market Insights team provides expert knowledge and data-backed, actionable insights about our customers, our industry, and our competitors to inform strategic decisions.

We help the company understand the people we’re building for, what motivates them, and where our apps fit into their lifestyles and workflows. We use surveys, interviews, onsite visits and other methods to study people, products, and the marketplace to understand the context in which Mailchimp lives. Our research plays a vital role in prioritizing product decisions, guiding product strategy, and creating a shared understanding of the customer experience.

This intern will collaborate with researchers across our team, with a focus on on analyzing and understanding our competitors and how Mailchimp stacks up against them. Their findings will help inform product development, marketing strategy, and general understanding of Mailchimp’s users and competitors. An ideal candidate listens hard, observes everything, and can synthesize large amounts of information into actionable insights.

What You’ll Do

  • Gather observations and data on our competitive space and help advocate for opportunities to improve our offerings
  • Develop skills in translating research needs into project plans, setting scope, and use the appropriate methods and resources
  • Identify and track changes in our competitors’ offerings and go-to-market strategies
  • Help communicate research insights and recommendations clearly, effectively, and diplomatically (through reports, presentations, cross-functional team meetings, internal newsletters, etc.)
