We’re looking for a world-class Community Manager to help us build and engage Leland’s massive community of young professionals, college applicants and job seekers. This individual will manage our growing applicant and coach communities, shape and manage the Leland user experience, and help us scale by surprising and delighting our customers at every turn.

If you love building community, organizing events, keeping people informed, fostering meaningful relationships, working for mission-driven companies, and delighting customers, we’d love to chat.

Responsibilities

  • Dive headfirst into the education and career coaching industries

  • Show off your people skills by developing relationships with our users (both applicants and coaches) and delivering an exceptional experience for everyone in the Leland community

  • Manage user onboarding and customer support for both sides of our marketplace

  • Respond to user feedback and help guide users to successful outcomes (for applicants, finding a coach and getting into their dream MBA program; for coaches, finding and partnering with applicants)

  • Oversee the day-to-day of our Slack communities; engage our users through a well-crafted, thoughtfully constructed content calendar and moderate accordingly

  • Proactively seek input from applicants and coaches about their wants and needs, then help devise ways to meet those needs in a way that surprises and delight our users

  • Execute community-centric events, such as Twitter Spaces calls and Zoom webinars

  • Partner with our Growth team to strategize and implement community membership growth initiatives; work with our engineers and product designers to help grow our world-class marketplace product

  • Act as point contact for community questions, resources, and support

  • Contribute to our team culture by fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment

  • Be a part of building a company from the ground up

Qualifications

  • You have 2-5 years of experience in Community, Marketing, or Customer Success

  • You have a strong track record with community building, with recent examples and results

  • You’re skilled with FB groups, Slack, and other social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc)

  • You’re an outstanding communicator with excellent people skills, who also enjoys writing

  • You’re curious, and eager to learn something new every day

  • You’re excited about a hybrid working model, and ready to collaborate with a distributed team (we’re in the Bay Area and Utah)

Benefits & Perks

  • Weekly meal allowance

  • Robust medical insurance (dental, vision, disability, etc)

  • Flexible PTO

  • Quarterly team offsite (our last one was in Aspen, CO)
