Whether we're creating new products or helping a small business expand its reach, people at Facebook are builders at heart. Our global teams are constantly iterating, solving problems, and working together to empower people around the world to build community and connect in meaningful ways. Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.

The Product Growth team leads growth initiatives for Facebook's most important products, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and Messenger. This team is data-driven and results focused. We are seeking a talented individual who will thrive at the intersection of Product Analytics, Data Science, Product Design, and Growth Marketing. The ideal candidate will have strong technical, analytical, and product skills – with a hunger to optimize products and make them grow.

  • Product Analysis: Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis to understand funnels, ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends in the adoption and usage of Facebook’s products. Deliver data-based insights and recommendations that directly influence the product team’s roadmap.
  • Creative Thinking: Lead ideation and execution of product changes and optimizations that drive growth, in partnership with Product Management, Engineering, Design, Content Strategy, and Data Science.
  • Growth Marketing: Run experiments with engineers to determine the best user experiences to maximize growth. Learn from and iterate on these experiments to maximize impact.
  • Product Influence: Deliver strong data-based recommendations on the best path forward for the business based on experiment results, and influence the product team to implement your recommendations.

Minimum Qualification

  • Experience in making analytical, data-driven decisions and communicating the results of analyses.
  • Experience in statistics (e.g. hypothesis testing, product experimentation, regressions, experimentation logic and biases).
  • Comfortable using SQL (with intermediate functions such as case logic and joins) to query large data sets. Prior SQL experience not required. Candidates are encouraged to use free online resources ahead of the interview.
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or other technical field or with significant amount of technical coursework.

  • Strong creative and ideation/brainstorming skills.
  • Experience thinking strategically, structurally solving product problems, and driving execution of projects.
  • Experience delivering growth with important business metrics.
  • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship.
