We are thrilled to announce the Susa Summer Fellows Program, an immersive summer program that connects high-performing university students to software engineering internships at world-changing startups in the Susa portfolio and introduces them to a lifelong community of peers and mentors in the Susa Family.
Each Fellow will spend the summer as an intern at a Susa Ventures portfolio company, where they will work closely with top-tier founders and engineering leaders on meaningful projects. Working at an early-stage startup on a lean team will afford Fellows with the opportunity to make an outsized impact in a fast-paced learning environment.
In addition to the internship within a Susa portfolio company, Fellows will also join an exclusive cohort of peers for inspiring content and community building opportunities organized by Susa Ventures. Events will include intimate chats with founders, investors and personal development coaches.
Mindful of the staggering underrepresentation of women (just 15% of all software engineers are women, despite being nearly half of the workforce) and BIPOC (of the “high tech” workforce, just 7.4% are Black and 8% are Latinx), our goal is to make this program representative of the diverse customers that our companies serve.

Who should apply
You are enrolled in a college or university, studying computer science, software engineering, mathematics or a related field. You’re working toward a graduation of Winter 2022 — Winter 2023. Curious, driven and entrepreneurial, you’ve already built a product or project. You’re energized by the idea of working at a startup and want to have an impactful experience at an innovative startup this summer (summer 2022).

FAQ
When will the program run?
Internship dates will be negotiated directly between the fellow and the Susa portfolio company. The fellowship programming will run from mid-June to mid-August.
Will the program be remote or in-person?
Some internship opportunities will be remote, and others will be in-person (SF/Bay, NYC and LA). The fellowship programming will be remote, though we hope to be able to host some in-person socials.
What is the interview and selection process?
Once applications are reviewed, a small number of applicants will be selected for semi-final interviews (virtual). Selected finalists will then move on to interviews with Susa Ventures portfolio companies, who will determine if an offer will be made. Compensation and internship dates will be negotiated directly with the Susa portfolio company, and upon acceptance, the intern will also be a part of the Susa Summer Fellows Program.
How many Fellows will be accepted?
In order to ensure an incredible experience, Susa is targeting an inaugural cohort of 10 Fellows.
Is this a paid internship?
Yes, compensation will be competitive and will be negotiated directly between the Susa portfolio company and the Fellow.
Is this program only for software engineers?
Yes, this program is focused on software engineering internships at this time.
